If TODAY is THE day…
It is 3 o'clock in the morning and I couldn't sleep because my back is causing me so much pain so I decided to make use of the time by writing to you. For those of you that do not know, I have a form of cancer called multiple myeloma. I have a broken back and must wear a brace; I have a rod from the top of my right hip down to my knee holding my leg together; I cannot lift anything over 8 ounces; I am in a wheelchair and the cancer has taken over 75% of the bones in my body and I am having problems with my lungs; I have no income and I HAVE NOT HAD A SHOWER IN OVER TWO MONTHS because I can't get up the stairs in my house.
BUT, now for what I do have!!! The joy of the LORD is my strength! I am grateful every day that I wake up! When all is going right in life, we sometimes take things for granted! We fool ourselves into believing that we are making things happen on our own. We believe that we are in control. Sure, we can decide some things for ourselves but what I have discovered is that we are not in control at all!
I would like to suggest that we give up the idea that we can control anything and REALLY start living the lives that GOD wants for us. The Bible says, “He will give us the desires of our hearts”! What do you desire? What would make you genuinely happy and bring you peace? And what are you allowing to keep you from the life you want? No more excuses and no more regrets! Go get the life you want. Well, you might say HOW??!! The first thing we must do is believe that we deserve the best that life has to offer. Then we must stop letting fear, negative talk and negative people steal our dreams!
With all that I have going on in my life I could just sit back and feel sad and sorry for myself, but even as trying as my situation is, I AM STILL BLESSED! I am in my right mind, I am not on a ventilator, and I am not paralyzed, which I could have been because I was moving furniture with a BROKEN BACK! I have AMAZING family and friends who give me money for medicine and bring me food and take me for my chemotherapy treatments. Some of my business clients have given me all the medical equipment and supplies that I need, enough to last me for months! I have nothing to complain about!!!
The old me would never have accepted any of those things from anyone! I wound have been insulted at just the offer, but the new me has better sense! (Luke 6:38). I realize that we need positive people in our lives to help us stand back up when we fall, but I am also aware that there are lots of unhappy people out there that cannot see past their own pain and life circumstances to be able to care for others. I am asking that you extend them a little more GRACE because you never know what a person is going through!
Start shifting your life TODAY in the direction of living with NO EXCUSES AND NO REGRETS! Go get the desires of your heart which have been promised to those who believe. If you need help, reach out to me. I am here with a positive attitude and a willingness to help!
